learning platform

DB Primary is the provider of our school VLE and Website.

The website www.st-edmunds.suffolk.sch.uk is the public face of St Edmunds; anyone with internet access can view its pages.

The VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) can only be accessed through entering a username and password, which are controlled by the school.

As outlined in the school's ICT and E-safety Policy, upon entry into school and receipt of a completed Acceptable Usage Policy (which outlines the rules and guidance for using the VLE), each child in the school will be given a unique username and password. These are sent home with the children, so that parents can also access the site. Both username and password should be entered in lower case, as the platform is case sensitive.

The VLE is, by its very nature, interactive and all children can contribute through their accounts.

We advise that, as in school, children are supervised by an adult when using the internet.

Each child's account has a golden whistle in the top left hand side of the page, which can used if they see something on the VLE that is upsetting. All such reports are investigated by the school's Computing subject leader, and where necessary a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
