The curriculum at St Edmund’s is a feast for learning and so we regularly make use of enrichment weeks to motivate and engage the children.

Enrichement weeks we have enjoyed in recent terms include:

  • St Edmunds Week
  • Book Week
  • Forest School Week
  • SAW (Science, Art and Writing) Week
  • Languages Week
  • Maths at Work week
  • Science/DT week
  • EAL Week

Our most recent Enrichement Week

October 2015

The most recent enrichment week that we have enjoyed at St Edmunds was our EAL Week in October 2015.

The theme for the week was exploring and celebrating some of the languages the children in our school community speak. The children from all year groups had the opportunity to explore a range of languages that are spoken by some of the children in the school.

We had several parents that came in to share their native language with the children through songs and stories. The children were able to hear and take part in these sessions, understanding that some children speak a different language at home and only speak English at school.

This week was a fantastic opportunity for us all, and many many thanks go to all the parents who not only volunteered their time, but produced some fantastic resources for the children too.
